locavoreCLE: the home of shane figuring out his dream.

What does my work future look like? Wait. You don’t know? Neither do I. That is why I created this web site/blog to start working through what I would like to do with the rest of my life. Stay. Tuned. <background image>

About Shane

Many, many years ago, after working diligently on grilledshane.com, my grilled cheese blog, I was lucky enough to write a grilled cheese cookbook. I even did a book tour, making appearances in multiple cities, including NYC. Sure, the book didn’t light up the New York Times Best Sellers List, but it was an experience that created memories that will last for a lifetime. (I was on satellite radio! And did book signings at The Greenbrier!)

But once you write one book, people start asking, “Will you write another cookbook?” Even I started wondering what was next. I had believed that I had my next chapter figured out, helping to open a new, local cheese shop, but here I find myself once again asking, “what do I want to do with my life”? What IS the next chapter of my work life? I have my personal life figured out, I am married to the love of my life, a wonderful young lady named Julie. It is simply time to figure out my work future. I know food will most likely be involved in some manner, but beyond that, that is what I need to figure out.

With all of that being said, I plan to use this web site, a site and brand I created when I was wanting to open my own cheese shop, with musings of a man who is trying to figure out what he would like to do when he grows up. If you are interested in grilled cheese sandwiches, and, I mean, who isn’t, go visit grilledshane.com, but make sure to return to catch up on my life. <background image>
